Catching our breath

Just to update everyone we have now arrived in Oakhurst Ca - the southern entrance to Yosemite - for 3 nights.

We finally got appoval from the insurance company to tighten up the tie-downs and add extra duct tape and wait to fix the coach until we get back home. We don't look so great but we're moving on. Just so you know things come in threes, 2 days ago we had to sit an extra day in Bakersfield while we had a tire overnighted. One of the exterior tires had a defect in the outside wall. So between the towing cord problem, the fender bender, and now the tire....maybe, just maybe, we're through for a whle.

You have to be proud of us though. These problems have not dampened our spirit one bit!! We are laughing at ourselves and looking forward to the remainder of our trip.

I will say that we are thrilled we have seen some of our country, but there isn't enough money to have us live anywhere near the mid-section of this country. We have seen enough dirt to hold us for a while! Not just regular dirt, but hard clay dirt--attached to rocks and some little piece of green weed trying it's best to live. (ha) When we arrived in Bakersfield, we finally got to see some hills with soft texture.

Will update again soon. We hope everyone is having a good summer.

Joy

We so enjoy reading your posts. Have been busy and haven't been on lately. We laughed but glad that you are alright. We are headed for Illinois early as Tom's aunt is dying and we need to be there. Just found out this a.m. so are off in the morning. Will keep watching for your updates while we are in Illinois. Having a great summer. Janet Gardner
