Hello everyone,
We arrived in Colorado Springs late last night. The drive through Kansas and Colorado was quite interesting. I have seen that terrain before, but just seeing how much "nothingness" was there sure makes you appreciate Florida's beauty. There was even a sign in Kansas that read "Free Land if you build a home or business." That says it all!!!
We are having trouble connecting to the internet with our laptop, so I have come to the local library. We aren't sure if the problem is with the laptop or with the wifi connections we are using here. So, pictures will have to come later when we figure out whats wrong.
We are two hours earlier here, so today we slept in and still got up early! What a deal. Even Monet didn't want to get up. Since she hasn't been able to get her normal 5 hour nap in the afternoon because of the movement while we drive, she insists on sitting on my lap. She eventually learned that she can't do her typical "legs and paws in the air laying on her back routine" while on my lap (haha). We packed a picnic lunch and went to see the Garden of the Gods and the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. There were several rope climbers going up the cliffs. I do not know how they do that!
This trip has been just wonderful. We haven't had this much fun since we went with my brother, David, 3 years ago out west hauling the Harleys for 2 weeks. Not having a schedule to stick to is the way to travel. We both have decided that if we had the money we could do this full time.
The temperature is in the mid 60's for the highs and mid 30's at nite. Even Van is putting on his jacket (over his shorts outfit though).
We go to Pikes Peak tomorrow and then to Cripple Creek Friday.
I hope to get pictures to everyone soon.
Keep us in yours prayers!

Carol & I are digging thru quilting stuff with my sister in S.C. Carol says we are in hog heaven. Box after box of "stuff" and we haven't even gotten to the t-shirt quilts yet. Wish you were here.
